Nicole318 27 Posted February 10, 2016 I've mad it through the surgery -yay! I have such bad abdominal pain right at the top my tummy where my boobs begin. Why?
jmf8756 1 Posted February 10, 2016 You just had a large portion of your stomach removed. Pain the first couple of days is normal. They filled you up with gas and dug around in there.
JamieLogical 8,719 Posted February 10, 2016 Probably gas. They fill your abdomen with gas to make more room to work and sometimes some of that gas gets trapped inside you and takes a while to work its way out. That is one of the primary sources of pain in the first few days. Don't be surprised if it migrates to your shoulder, neck, or upper back. That's very common. bigbit 99 Posted February 10, 2016 Agree with the other posters - most likely residual gas pain from the surgery, and it may migrate to your shoulder area before the gas has a chance to dissipate from your body.
Nicole318 27 Posted February 11, 2016 Thanks everyone for the replies. Yes that was what it was. The Gas X strips helped a lot. Very minimal pain if any now

Lisa_85 118 Posted February 14, 2016 I had such bad gas pain in my chest from surgery! I would take Hot showers in the Hospital. To release some of the gas pain.
