Recommended Posts

So excited to see so many from Utah here. I live in Wyoming but will have my surgery at LDS next month. I went through Rocky Mtn Associated Physicians. Good luck to all!

So I've been MIA from BP, I wanted to know how everyone is doing especially cause we all are from UT. I had my surgery on March 2, 2016. Everything went perfectly, I was so pleased. I started my Pre-Pre-Op diet on Jan 15,2016. I'm down 82 lbs since then. I'm loving life and excited for all the new things I'm doing. I workout 5-6 times a week.. Please let me know how you all are doing..

@@UtahChica congratulations! You look great! I'm glad everything went so well. Did you have bypass or sleeve?

@@UtahChica glad you are doing great! I had my surgery April 8th with Dr Zavalza. I am down 40 pounds and feel great. This surgery was not anywhere as difficult as I thought it would be. I had almost zero pain and recovery was a cinch. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Dr Embley at Eagle Mountain clinic has been great with me! Far if you're in SLC but he is really good.

@@kyleegirl01, thank you for letting me know on your doctor you are very kind.

I'd love to meet up with other sleevers in our area if you are interested. I had another friend who also had the surgery a week or so ago and her experience wasn't the best. I'm trying to be there for moral support.

I also have a IG account if you are interested, I'm kind of weird and haven't shared it publicly with a lot of people. Just very close friends and some family.

I have yet to publicly share the info as well. I'm not opposed at all to getting together. Maybe we could all go geocaching? Get us outdoors and moving.

OMG!! I'm sorry I don't get on BP very much. I have an IG if anyone wants to see my progress or communicate. I'd love to see others progress and positive motivations too. My IG is under VegMex_VSG

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
