In a positive manner, could we discuss Shiann Friesen? One of the things I do is look at the opposing viewpoint and see what I can find is positive for me to change. I go past name calling, etc. because the only one I can change is me and how I react to a situation can determine how someone else responds.

Thanks.

Ahhhh... I will have to read a bit more, but the Walmart employee was in the wrong. I am quite sure Walmart cares nothing about an $9 sweater. Now if she was in a store where there were $500 sweaters and clearly one was not going to fit, it's common sense that the store clerk kindly suggest a different article of clothing so as not to damage something more expensive.

This is simply my knee jerk reaction to one article. I will poke around the internet a bit more but it seems to me that many of these vloggers are LOOKING for "discrimination" and something to be offended by. Why else would they have cameras rolling during the most simple of errands?

Yeah, just another vigilante vlogger looking for sympathy because someone "discriminated" against her.

She had said herself this woman working the fitting room was being a compete b*tch from the get go. Talk to the manager, have the employee either fired or disciplined, and let it go.

I, too call shenanigans on the validity of the video. She was deliberately baiting to try to get something on camera to vlog about.

I was appalled by this story! Why would someone want to buy a sweater from Wal-Mart. :)

Because they love Chinese made crap and terrible service?

That sounds like the cheap Chinese Restaurant in my town.

I would've gone with the attitude of, "If you stretch it, you buy it". Being overweight doesn't give you a license to destroy property.

The face that she is only 19 speaks volumes.

As the owner of a 17 year old drama queen, I'd say she often looks for things to "get political" about. I daresay this girl hasn't matured much passed that point.

Who is this? Can you provide some background for your question?

So I just watched the video. She is considering legal action? OHHHHHH! And the sales person was a bit ignorant, but Shi turned off the camera so we really can't see the follow up.

She's full of poo in my opinion.

The Walmart part starts at 2:56ish.

I had no idea either lol :) but googled and watched the video. Whilst the shop assistant's sentiments are in the right place - she could have handled it better ! I'm surprised actually that a Walmart employee would care that much about cheap jumpers. I feel a bit sorry for her and feel she was a bit set up by this so called Vlogger.

Just some thoughts after watching the video:

Yes, that was extremely lousy customer service. (My editorial: if Walmart wants effective customer service, it would pay its employees more and train their employees better. They don't care.)

Walmart's legal department is there to provide advice to and protect Walmart. Demanding to talk to their legal department isn't going to do her any good.

She sounds Canadian. In the US, even though size discrimination is objectionable, it isn't illegal. The obese are not a protected class. Protection for gender identification is murky at best.

If think she would benefit from writing about her experience in a clear and concise way. The highly edited video was distracting and disjointed. She could have made her point more clearly and with much more impact with some thought and effort.

I applaud her communicating about something she is passionate about.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
