Amelie2016 116 Posted February 8, 2016 I'm hoping to see if anyone else has used this product or has any other recommendations for my new VSG stomach. (I put in a call to the nutritionist, but I doubt I'll get a call back. They stay busy. )Renew Life Probiotics 50 billion active thingies . It is one that requires refrigeration and they are in capsules. I am 7 days out of surgery, 5 days out of the hospital now. What kind of Probiotics work best for you guys? Before surgery I ate tons of fermented foods so it was never an issue. =) TY!
Pescador 1,374 Posted February 8, 2016 The over the counter probiotics work well.
Rogofulm 2,440 Posted February 8, 2016 I don't know that particular product, but I take a probiotic from costco every day. Also supplement with a psylium capsule twice a day. And remember, you can get probiotics from Greek yogurt too. It's a great afternoon snack.< /p>

Rogofulm 2,440 Posted March 2, 2016 Okay, a friend who had bariatric surgery two years ago was told by her doctor that studies show long-term use of Protonix, or other PPIs can leach Calcium from your system, possibly leading to more brittle bones - especially in women. I haven't verified this, but it may be something to talk to our doctors about. [Dang, I love my PPIs!]
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted March 2, 2016 That's true, but we're talking about probiotics, not proton pump inhibitors.
Rogofulm 2,440 Posted March 2, 2016 That's true, but we're talking about probiotics, not proton pump inhibitors. Ohhhhh... That's different. Never mind! -Emily Litella- (P.S. I take probiotics too; billions of them – literally!)
