It appears to be that I am in the dreaded stall. I started my journey on Oct 28th which was my surgery date. I weighed 243. I hit 199 in the middle of January but my losing has slowed and am now down to 195. How long have you guys been in the stall and when did you start losing again???

If you are still losing you are not stalled. From middle of January to now you have lost 4 pounds. That is at least 1 pound a week average correct? That is still a loss. That is my average loss and I lose less than a pound some weeks. Read the thread about embracing the stall. Keep doing what you need to do and things will keep moving. Good luck!

When in doubt, go back to basics. Measure out everything you eat, get in all required Protein, and make sure you're getting plenty of fluids. Outside of that you can change up your exercise routine or add additional workouts per week.

Let's see! At around 3 months out, your meal volume is beginning to increase. This gives you an option to maximize your weight loss. Your daily Protein requirement is met by the amount of Protein you obtain from supplements (Protein shakes, protein bars) combined with the amount of protein from meals. As your meal volume increases, you can derives significant amounts of protein from your meals IF you concentrate on consuming high protein meals.

As I progressed in increased meal volumes, I went from 3 Protein Shakes per day over time down to 2 then down to 1 and then finally none. Protein shakes do contain calories. As I started dropping off the shakes my stall ended and I began to lose weight again.

i had a stall very similar to yours - i started at 255lbs surgery was Oct 15) - and dropped to 201 pretty fast - had a short stall then dropped to 195 - stayed there for a while and now at 190 - and those 5 lbs came off in about 1 1/2 weeks. Like others have said go back to the basics. Are you exercising??? Getting all your Water?? Getting all your Protein??

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
