So far it has to be one egg scrambled with lil butter and 1/2 slice of reduced fat american cheese until melted, then I mash it together until it is all an egg cheese mushy mix. SO GOOOD!

Refried Beans with salsa.....mushed together until creamy. For an extra treat, add a teaspoon of lite sour cream or mashed avacado on top. Yummy!

You can do the same thing with chili. Also very good.

Mine was egg salad. I never really went crazy for it before (like my wife did), but when I was going over the list of mushies I could have 4 weeks post op and saw it on there I began to crave it. I had it for dinner a week ago and was so into it that my wife insisted I make enough for her too. Nice to share dinner again!

I made mine very smooth in my chopper with some low fat mayo.

Having read so much about tasty stuff like refried Beans or chili with Beans all mashed up, I am going to try that this weekend. In the words of Rachael Ray, "YUMMO!"

I've only just started and I've got to agree with the hummus. I make my own with chickpeas, lemon juice and garlic (and a bit of Water to make it smooth) and blend it. I don't have any of that special paste. But it tastes soooo good and I feel full. It's wonderful. :)

Raspberries or strawberries blended, then mixed with (full fat) cottage cheese and splenda. I still eat it every single day and it's still my favorite meal!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
