catwoman7 11,220 Posted February 7, 2016 I've had some - when there were chunks of it in fruit salad. It's a really acidic fruit so probably not something I'd want to try until I was a few months out of surgery.

Djmohr 6,965 Posted February 7, 2016 I had bypass and had pineapple beginning around month 4 post op. I can eat a few bites but more than that and I get what I would describe as near dumping. I am careful but I do eat it once in a while. For me it is about quantity.

Cervidae 2,389 Posted February 7, 2016 so what are safe fruits the only fruit I've had so far that didn't give me any issue was a banana. Which is lucky, because I LOVE bananas.
axlr8n 161 Posted February 7, 2016 At 2 months, I was allowed fruits without skins or seeds... think melon or peeled pear and apple. I stayed away from raspberries, strawberries, etc because the small seeds can be uncomfortable.
Klaselayd 8 Posted February 14, 2016 Abryson, have u tried blending fresh fruits into a smoothie? I am 5 weeks out RNY and I combine Kale, banana, Flaxseed, apple, Baby carrots, and Protein Powder, into my Magic Bullet. It's a delicious way to get my fruit, veggies, and Protein in. lifeofblair 308 Posted February 14, 2016 I haven't had any issues with fruit. When I was cleared for fruit I did a bunch of peaches and nectarines. But, I do pineapple, grapes, apples and bananas. I find apples feel me up really fast so I can't eat many.
