rmgmomma 30 Posted February 10, 2016 I really miss salads! I Keep trying, but they just don't sit right. I'm 3 mos. out. Please tell me it gets better. I'm ok with cooked veggies, just not leafy salads.
Pea523 28 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) I had a chipotle black bean burger and that thing "barked" at me for a solid 2 days. Worst heartburn I've ever had!I just bought some of those at Costco! Love them! I had some and I could hold them down. @@SleevyWonder - Funny because I was going to purchase the lobster bisque they had on sale. I'm ok with cooked veggies, just not leafy salads. I'm 17 months post-op and still can't do raw veggies, so it may not get better. The good news is, salad is pretty much a waste of sleeve space anyway, so it's better to get your Protein in.
Valentina 2,642 Posted February 11, 2016 It does get better. I promise. Have you tried fresh spinach instead of leaf lettuce? Spinach is softer and milder. I love my salads as long as I have a vinegar based dressing. Anything creamy, or sweet doesn't stay around long! I believe fresh veggies and a salad occasionally help to cleanse one's palate and reset it. It would be a dreary world without freshness.
24601 210 Posted February 11, 2016 Straight milk. I can have any dairy products, but if I try and have a cup of milk I get dumping syndrome.
NYLux12 50 Posted February 11, 2016 My stomach can't handle anything remotely hot/spicy. I tried to make pancakes with coconut flour, eggs and bananas and was miserable for quite some time. I think it was the bananas. I've been extremely lucky, I'm 10 weeks out and I haven't barfed since leaving the hospital!
cdsjjotn 516 Posted February 11, 2016 Skin on chicken. I always make skinless chicken breasts but was running late so I picked up one of those rotisserie chickens already made in the grocery store. I don't know why but because the skin was on it I craved it. Big mistake, suffered all night. Same reaction to tilapia but I think I just that too fast but I will never eat fish again, only shellfish:)
bettyboop2088 19 Posted February 11, 2016 I am at 9 week post op and most food still makes me ill I am really hoping this feeling goes away. I am afraid to try much more then cottage cheese, mac and cheese, Soups, and Protein shakes. I really hope someday I can eat more food and just keep up with my smaller portion. Not really the best choice at 9 weeks out. I do think things will get better for you. 9 weeks is still pretty early.
