Going off at a tangent! Grrrrrrrrr!

I love BP for all that I have learned since my surgery last year. I've been sticking close to a thread about stalling and it is really helping me see one through. However, there appears to be a bunch of air headed hits who are having their own little private conversation about pre-op diets!!!!!!! WTF do they think there are so many options for postings and info? So you don't clutter up threads that are a lifeline to people with your gossipy drivel!!!!!!!! Right, I've probably upset loads of people but I needed to let rip. Shall shut up now............

@@jintycb - that is a good point. But can we talk about relationships and dating? ;-)

Unfortunately, it happens.

Have you tried gently reminding them to take their conversation to a new thread?

Otherwise, either try to bring the thread back to the main topic or ignore it.

Glad to hear you are getting the help you need, though.

@@jintycb -- It can be frustrating, but huffing and puffing won't change a thing. It's in the nature of upright walkers to veer off. As you feel about those who go off topic plenty of others feel after the five thousandth time a question is posted as a new topic, stalls included. NNUTS: It's all been asked, hashed and rehashed before. (I don't see that talk of pre-op eating is the same as gossip.) Read what suits you and skip the rest. Here's an opportunity to try it out...

Putting the people who irritate you on Ignore is a great message board tool. I have a few people here on ignore, and I often don't even notice that they've posted when I scroll through threads.

@@ACV, if you add a post like "bump" to a dead thread it will revive It in the New Content section.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
