j16 166 Posted February 7, 2016 Omg these taste so good but now I am worried. I am trying to get all my Vitamins, etc ready before surgery and ordered a three month supply. The problem is these taste like candy and I am already craving them. I'm scared they will turn into a trigger food. Has anyone else had this problem?
Djmohr 6,965 Posted February 7, 2016 Honestly you may absolutely hate them after surgery. It is really weird but anything overly sweet is absolutely disgusting. I made the mistake of buying some chews as well and they were so good, after every time I ate one I gagged. Now I have this giant tub of sweat tart Bariatric Calcium citrate. They are even more disgusting. I was going to throw them out and find something new but they so expensive so I just use them and shiver every time I eat one. After this container I will get some chocolate chews, I like those. You really do learn to control yourself after surgery.
borg/assimilated 576 Posted February 7, 2016 I absolutely love my caramel and chocolate calcium chews. I didn't start them until eight weeks after surgery and had read about them on this forum ( threw out a few really awful ones). I have two of them mid-morning and look forward to them every day. I only have the two and I am not tempted to have more. You will be surprised at what happens to your tastes and your ability to say no to certain foods after surgery.
