Irene revised due to uncontrolled reflux. I can't recall her screen name, it has diva and Irene in it - she is a great resource.

Hi there. I am in the process of revising from sleeve to bypass. I had lost 100lbs in the first year of the sleeve which was great but then immediately gained it all back. I'm now, right back where I started. Due to my insurance I have to do 6mo physician supervised weight loss attempt. 4mos left to go. I'm hoping I'll be able to revise in July.

Nice to meet someone that's going through this process I only lost 50lbs with the sleeve then my sleeve became non functioning I have a hustle hernia in my sleeve and an extreme case of GERDS that has caused me to have an erosive esophagus... Because I'm in such bad shape it only took my insurance 5 days to approve me I'll be revised on March 16th...I'm excited but terrified at the same time

Following. I had the VSG in 2012. I initially lost 125 lbs. I have gained 25 back. I have terrible reflux. I had an EGD on Friday and the GI doc said he expects to recommend a revision to the full bypass. I have no idea what to expect as far as eating differences, recovery time, and if it is possible to lose additional weight. My surgeon said he usually only sees a 15-20 lb additional weight loss from a revision. Thoughts?

I only weigh 110lbs because I revised from band to sleeve, but now I have a stricture (3months post op). Last night my surgeon did emergency dialation but said if it doesn't work he will have to do a bypass. When will this nightmare end? Is there anyone out there with the same problem?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
