I lost all respect for Dr. Now when Skin Tight started airing and he started billing himself as a plastic surgeon. You are either a bariatric surgeon or plastic surgeon. In all of my research of both (and I did a lot) I never heard of any reputable surgeon claiming to specialize in both. To anyone cosidering plastics, DO NOT go to anyone who claims to specialize in anything other that plastic surgery! It is a HIGHLY specialized field and deserves a surgeon's full focus and attention. Would you go to an orthopedic surgeon for a heart transplant?

Some bariatric surgeons do remove aprons but just for mobility reasons. He is doing way more than a bariatric surgeon should be doing. At first I thought someone else was doing the surgeries with him but that doesn't seem to be the case.

@@sassyfrass23 Dr. Now is doing pretty much all the plastics except for breast implants. I believe he sends them to the wonder twins.

Oh and they end up sending some patients to Dr. Now because he is better with varicose veins and other things.

They've shown him doing lower body lifts, tummy tucks, arm lifts, back lifts, and thigh lifts. And he's been the one actually performing the surgeries. They show him cutting and stitching in the OR.

Wow. Apparently I have not seen any of the episodes where those surgeries were performed. That's shocking.

It's a separate show called Skin Tight. It's about people who have lost a lot of weight having skin removal surgery.

Ahhh...that makes sense. I haven't watched any of the Skin Tight episodes yet.

They are educational in everything wrong to do with plastic surgery.

They can also make you feel better. People say it you lose weight "slowly" and do it the "right way" with diet, exercise and hard work. you don't end up with loose skin. Well almost all these people did it the long and hard way, most taking 3-5 year to lose the weight and they have as much if not more loose skin than WLS patients.

The wonder twins as someone called them are terrible, they would be sued, put people are getting free surgery so they are going to Dr Now to get Fixed. Like that is how bad they are. They are plastic surgeons and they botch it so bad that people go to Dr Now to be repaired. Mind blown? Yeah so are the rest of us.

It is a train wreck of epic proportions, add it to the DVR.

It really is sad. Because plastics can be AMAZING and have amazing long term results. The doctors on that show are just TERRIBLE. If I see one more Tummy Tuck without a muscle repair, I think I'm just going to have to give up on the show altogether. I feel bad for the patients. I know they are getting extensive plastic surgery for free, but the revisions they will need down the line make it so not worth it. They'd be better off saving up for a couple of years, going to a decent surgeon, and saving themselves additional surgeries in the future.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
