losinglily 17 Posted February 4, 2016 Hey all, I have been a lurker for over a year and a half. I FINALLY have my surgery date (2/9), and can't wait to lose the flub! Let me introduce myself. I'm hoping to make some friends. First off, I'm a 41 year old gal living in Southern California. I'm an identical triplet. I should say that I WAS an identical triplet until I gained 100+ pounds. Now it's hard to hang around those skinny bitches! No, I love my doppelgängers, but it really is hard to hang out with them when you know that others are wondering what the hell happened to me. Anyway, another way that we aren't identical is that I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia 8 years ago. I am hoping that my joints will be better once I lose weight. The main reason I want to lose weight is because I want to be more active and enjoy life with my 10 year old son. He's growing up fast, and I don't want to miss out on the things I've put off doing with him for so long. Well, that's the gist of it. I'll keep you posted on my surgery. losinglily 17 Posted February 4, 2016 Hey, all. Valentina: glad to meet someone else with arthritis and fibro. Do you have OA or RA? It's Time: I am glad to have a surgery twin! I have to admit that as far as my preop diet goes, I lapsed a few days (not terribly) after my surgery was cancelled, but I'm back on track. My surgeon wanted me to lose 10-15 pounds preop (I'm 5'5 and 240). I've actually lost 13 pounds. I found out that I have some gallstones (big), but they aren't taking my gallbladder out. Ugggg. I have to say that my biggest worry at this point is not having coffee. Well, off to my pre op appt!

I will tell you that the less strain on the ol' bones brings much relief to pain. It doesn't do much for the Fibro, but still worth every pain you have post-op. Be healthy and keep in touch!
