Unflavored Protein Powder

Recommended Posts

Having a difficult time getting my Protein Shakes down. My diet states I can replace a Protein Shake by adding unflavored Protein Powder to oatmeal, cottage cheese, ricotta and even coffee and use this instead of a shake. Just wondering what brand of Protein powder everyone likes? Mine has to be between 15-20 grams of protein and 5 grams or less of sugar and fat.

Hi Maria, The brand I use is called Protein Milk shake Bar. I really like the flavors of vanilla Caramel & Rocky Road. It has 22g of Protein, 2.7g of sugar, 4.1g carbs. One cup of milk, one scoop of powder, the bonus is one day I ran out of milk and it says you can mix with Water, so I mixed it with Water & I thought oh man this is gonna suck, but to my delighted surprise it was good. That's how I drink it now. There is no aftertaste with this protein powder. They have many other flavors but these are my favorites. I bought them off of Amazon. I also bought some drinks, Isopure, the blue raspberry is the best, and in a 20oz. bottle there is 40g of protein and zero carbs. I hope this helps you!!

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury makes an unflavored. It does have a slight taste, though, so it works best in things that have some flavor. It would probably be fine in oatmeal. Not sure about cottage cheese - but you could give it a shot.

Use the Unjury unflavored powder. I have been mixing it with a package of no sugar no fat instant pudding mix and Fair Life milk for a high Protein pudding. Fair Life milk has higher protein than regular milk so I end up with high protein pudding. It is very easy to eat when I'm having trouble eating.

I used to do this too! Can't taste the protein at all. I guess the chocolate pudding is strong enough that it covers it up.

I use Isopure Unflavored whey Protein. It is easy to find at Vitamin Shoppe. It has 26g of Protein per scoop. My favorite recipe right now is frozen strawberries, almond milk, Isopure, Splenda and a dash of Torani sugar free vanilla Syrup. I use a Ninja blender to turn it into a smoothie. It's delicious and you cannot taste the protein.

I bought the GENEPRO as recommended here. They sell single serve packs so you can sample it, and easily take it out. I mixed it with broth today and it mixed in very well and I didn't notice it at all.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
