Finally! Plastics time! Tell me everything!

Another option to think about is going to Toronto Canada. I had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift, and Gummy bear implants for under 15000 cdn, $11000 us with the low Canadian dollar right now might be a good option. That included a year of follow up, but doesn't include hotel. As for recovery to avoid complications don't plan on moving on around very much for 2 weeks minimum. I am so happy with my results.

@@bdcsail, do you mind me asking who your surgeon was? Or do you have surgeon recommendations? I'm still quite a ways away from plastics, but thought I'd start researching and Toronto isn't that far from me. TIA!

I used Dr Leila Kasrai. She was amazing and I am very pleased. She did the drain less Tummy Tuck. She is close to the subway but not downtown so not crazy parking fees either. You can have surgery in the reg hospital or at a private clinic as well right downtown in Yorkville.

@@bdcsail, how do they determine if a TT can be drainless? That is my biggest fear, those stupid drains. I have seen some people with one and other with four!

I submitted a request for a consult with a local PS!!! I'm so nervous/excited.

I also researched a LOT on Mexico but I am really worried about the follow up care. If I have any issues I want to be able to drive 45 minutes to my surgeon's office and have him help. There's going to be a LOT of incisions and I want to be close to home.

My biggest issue will be finding someone who can help me shower, tend to my incisions and help me in and out of the compression garments.

@@KristenVSG2014 See now that's why I want to go the Mexico route because the Dr said I will have a nurse come to my hotel everyday for the 12 days and get me dressed, change my bandages ect.. Plus he will be coming by also. I worry about the long term after care but I have a primary DR if anything happens I will see her and she will send me where I need to go. Insurance should cover that kind of thing. If I need a in state plastic surgeon then I have on of those too I can see. It's a toss up.

My all inclusive total for a breast lift with (large silicon anatomical implants) and a Tummy Tuck will be 10,100. Plus he will reimburse me 600 for my plane ticket. That includes food, compression garments, medications, hospital, nurse care, surgery, transportation ect.... Everything. That's great considering my surgeon here wants close to 16,000 and that's with saline not anatomical implants with only 1 hospital day then I'm on my own at home. You have to be comfortable with whatever you chose and I'm getting more comfortable with Mexico by the day.

Yes, I really liked the 12 day aftercare but people had incisions opening up up to 3 months post op or developing seromas that needed to be drained later and while my PCP is great I don't think he would remove my hundreds of stitches for me. I still submitted a consult with Dr. Laura Carmina Cardenas in Tijuana so I have my bases covered but I'm not 100% comfortable with Mexico. I love her results. It's the lack of in-person follow ups I'm worried about.

On a side note, my mom said she will alter her work schedule to help with showers, incisions and compression garment. She can also ask my grandma to come down and help. Dad and Husband will be my day caretakers getting me food and drink and helping me around.

It depends if the surgeon does it that way. It takes longer because they do a somewhat of a quilting but less complications .

Your stitches aren't removed. Nearly all of your stitches will be subdermal and disolve on their own. You may spit a couple, but you can just pull them out with tweezers. The only stiches I had that needed to be removed were in my belly button, at my drain sites, and where the Lipo wand had been inserted. It was a total of maybe 12 stitches? And Dra. Cardenas removed them before I flew home.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
