HAD AN EPISODE WITH A BOILED EGG

Recommended Posts

I am into my seventh week, and had been tolerating soft boiled eggs well until this morning. I got half way through and then just could not stop heaving. It has made me ill for the entire day and really put me off food. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm actually eating a tiny cup of chicken salad; tiny chopped chicken, mayo, tiny chopped peppers and celery and my stomach is making the most god awful noises...I'm in the office and very scared where this might lead....

I hope you feel better soon. I am 5 weeks out and my nutritionist told me that I might do great with eggs one day and the next might be horrible. We have temperamental stomachs now unfortunately :(

Sigh, sadly yes. I am 6 weeks out and I'm having chicken issues. Just can't stomach the stuff anymore and I could a week or two ago. My stomach and tastes have completely shifted since the surgery, fortunately for the better. Maybe try the eggs again in a week or two and see if it's just a phase your belly is going through.

Look on Pinterest for ideas! Just search bariatric diets or soft foods.

I did hear people can have issues with hard boiled eggs! Especially if they are eating them plain! Good luck, & congrats!

ohh heck yes I have had this happen and it sucks.. I was good with scrambled eggs on week 5 and then week 6 or 7 my sleeve said no thank you and sent it back up. the only thing that has never come back up is baked chicken, yogurt and cheese, everything else is suspect. I just figured its part of the process, I don't use my nausea pills as much which is good, and i have learned to taste things and wait 5min now before taking another bite.

All this will pass. I am 2 1/2 years post sleeve. Just keep living and move on to something else!

Yes happened to me. I can tolerate them now. I have an egg steamer and like the texture much better than typical boiled eggs.

Same way with chicken and my pre op Protein shakes but still can't tolerate those so I stick to my unflavored Syntrax. chicken in small amounts and has to be moist.

My biggest issue now is leafy greens...nausea and likely vomiting if I eat them. Bummer

Keep trying and revisit later. Experience may change.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
