I'm a geek. My hobbies include table top role play games like dungeons and dragons and the like and extremely complex board games I even go to conventions to meet new people and play with them. I also like crochet bit have carpal tunnel so can't do it much oh and I also love football and play fantasy football as well

We have an extensive board game collection. If you like Pandemic at all I would highly recommend Pandemic Legacy. The game evolves and permanently changes as you play a minimum of 12 games to complete the scenario. And the best part is it's 2 player! We always try to find games we can play together but many just aren't as good with 2 players.

My primary hobby before my spinal surgery was raising and showing standard poodles. I adore the breed--and, yes there IS a real dog underneath all of that fancy hair.

I loved the competition of showing in this country, Canada and Bermuda. My male, "KAVA'S HI-HO SILVER, finished 5th in the country a few years ago. Not bad for a poor county dog with no Fifth Ave. backing.

My daughter, Amanda and myself traveled from Mid Canada to Florida to Maine. She Showed her pug and I , of course the Standard Poodles.

If you can, Please watch the Westminster Dog Show next week and rout for the Black Standard b***h. She will be shown by a Japanese fellow--Kaz Hosaka. I am consultant for that girl! I have shown at "The Garden" many times. Showing dogs competitively is addicting and to do it by yourself without financial backing is a tough road, but can be done.

I also teach dog obedience and 4-H dog training for the young folks wanting to show at the State Fair. Training a dog is SOOOOOO beneficial for young

children and teens. It teaching responsibility, patience, compassion and helps develop common sense.

Anyway, since my spinal surgery, I have taken up crocheting, to hopefully keep my fingers moving until the day I can hopefully stand long enough to so the hours and hours and hours of poodle grooming and move enough to get back into the ring.

Sorry, to babble on so, but you did ask and I am quite passionate about dogs. :)

Oh Dear!, I almost forgot--with pitchers and catchers reporting this week------I AM A HUGE YANKEE FAN,!!!!! (also Robinson Cano whatever team he plays on) My favorite player is A. Rod #13.

OMG! how could I forget? I love to surf fish. In my profile pix, I am holding a 48" striped bass that I landed last May. My favorite is flounder fishing at night.

I am a tribal belly dancer  It is a wonderful dance style that is very inclusive of differnt body types. I do "improv" style in which we have a shared vocabulary of moves with cues we can use to dance together without choreography. It is a lovely community and the dance itself is beautiful and good exercise.

I am a Chef! I spend most of my week at my restaurant where I cook up farm to table southern comfort magic. I am also a student finishing my bachelors in hospitality management. But when I'm not a work or school, I love spending time with my husband, cheering on the St. Louis Blues (currently watching the game with the hubs!), going to the gym (an everyday must!) and playing with cosmetics. I even sometimes do freelance makeup jobs.

I really enjoy vintage automobiles. Mainly in summer when we have lots of car shows. They are just plain fun to drive around... Older folks love to chat about the era of the cars original date.post-121934-14544646808016_thumb.jpg

Also April thru September finds me at AT&T park. Go Giants ⚾️⚾️

One of the things I am looking forward to being able to do again is play tennis again, especially with my dad.

I haven't played since college.

I get asked this a lot because I'm online dating... It's a great topic!! Haha yeah my first response is "count calories and post on BP!" Hahaa just kidding.

I used to love photography. Now it's what I do for a living so I wouldn't call it a hobby. :)

I enjoy reading novels

Researching cold case crimes and serial killers (uh huh I'm sick!)

Hiking

Sunbathing

Clothes Shopping!!

Playing guitar and singing

Travel

Speaking of hockey, funny story...

My partner mentioned she would like for us to go to a Blackhawks game. I said sure! We will get tickets....as soon as I figure out when their season is...????????????

I'm so not into sports I have no idea when hockey season is! Lol and even better, she doesn't either! Hahahah

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
