I didn't think to add Protein Powder in my broth. What a fantastic idea!

No real hunger, but definitely weak. Going to try to get two Protein Shakes in today, which will be 320 calories and 60 grams of Protein. I mixed a chocolate and vanilla one together since they both taste better diluted. I also thinned a bit with skim milk, so there is a bit more Protein coming in there.

The shakes actually taste pretty good, so that's a good sign. Hope I can get it all down today.

I have no idea how you are getting so much liquid down, but that's awesome! We are doing well!!

Oh I haven't done it yet That is my goal for food type stuff. I am struggling getting enough fluids down. The shakes are going down easier than expected though.

It probably was too hot. I have the Unjury chicken Soup and it states it can't be boiling hot. Trying letting the soup cool prior to adding the protein

I have heard no hotter than 140 degrees F for Protein mix ins. Otherwise it will kind of gel up.

I'm going to give the Protein powder in the broth thing another try tomorrow - I'm way turned off by trying to drink it earlier when I messed it up! haha.

I'm in my kitchen today prepping for full liquids that I get to start this weekend and I thought I would offer to teach anyone who might think it helpful how my make your own plain greek yogurt. I know those containers at the store get pretty pricey week after week. I've been making my own for about 3 years now and its crazy easy - usually only costs me the price of 1 gallon of milk so around here its about $2.59 a gallon. Making it the first time you'd spend another $1 for a starter plain greek yogurt. Anyway, a batch lasts me nearly 6 weeks and I share it with my wife and 4 year old. So if anyone is interested I can post the "how to" later this weekend.

Cheers I hope you are all getting your fluids in!!! 38oz so far for me :)

Swallowing is so weird now. It's like you can feel the liquid stop at a certain point and then drain on down. Very odd.

It does! That is so weird!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
