Try benefiber. It is a tasteless fine powder that you can add to any drink, or sprinkle on your food. Totally tasteless. I think the problem is the amount of Protein we take in, if I am not mistaken.

Miralax should we take it everyday? I am also having issues with this. Doctor said to take Miralax if I had any problems, but I do not know if I need it everyday. Stool softener was also suggested.

Do you keep yourself well hydrated? Also, do you happen to be taking a large dosage of an Iron supplement?

Having the same issue & benefiber wasn't helping. What has helped very much is Smooth Move tea and it taste good to. I drink a cup every other night.

Being high Protein low /no carb we are all lacking Fiber. Keeping hydrated will help as will miralax or the Smooth Move tea.

It's terrible & completely no fun having "potty problems." I use miralax in my crystal light & milk of magnesia (cherry is good-ish) & am moving to colace twice a week. I look forward to the day when I can have a little oatmeal & some prunes. Oh gosh, I'm turning into my grandmother????

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I've been constipated. This is awful!! I started taking stool softeners and they are helping.

I was having the same issues. I'm 7 weeks out or so. They told me to take up to 4 Colace a day and Miralax, if needed. If I'm consistent with the Colace, 1 a day seems to be working ok.

My NUT said it gets better as we are able to incorporate more veggies into our diets.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
