Lyndzee104 2 Posted February 6, 2016 Yes! Just thought that it might be interesting to compare notes:)....be "buddies" along the way....how are u out guys feeling? What foods are you allowed to eat?are you having problems with any foods?
bunyip 27 Posted February 6, 2016 I feel great! I haven't had any of the problems with nausea, vomiting, feeling tired, etc that you see people complaining of. I had very little gas pain after surgery and needed only a small amount of pain meds for the surgical pain. I haven't had any trouble with any foods, but I haven't tried eating a bunch of crazy stuff. If I want to try something new, I just try a little bit of it and see how it goes. So far, so good. Unfortunately, it appears that I'm not going to be one of those who has dumping syndrome as an added incentive to be good, so I'll have to really watch what I put in my mouth. I've lost about 14 pounds since my surgery on 1/20. I'll take that. :-)
Lyndzee104 2 Posted February 6, 2016 Sounds like you are off to a great start...I had A LOT of gas post op and still have the occasional problem with it....it's a good thing to not have dumping besides...we can't fit that much in there anyways lol....i am down 19....26 including the end day preop clears.... 3 day*

Newlife4nita 1 Posted February 7, 2016 Hi, I actually had my surgery on 1/18/16. It has been a rough couple of weeks for me. I was fortunate that I didn't have the shoulder/gas pain you hear about. I've had no vomitting and very little nausea. The problem I am having is not being able to tolerate Protein shakes/drinks at all. I've tried too many to count and spent hundreds of dollars. Because of my lack of protein and fluids, I have been very tired and weak. I have just started to incorporate some Beans, applesauce and beef into my diet so I'm hoping that helps. bunyip 27 Posted February 7, 2016 Is yogurt a no-go for you also?
Newlife4nita 1 Posted February 8, 2016 Yes. Unfortunately I have never liked yogurt. I tried pudding but it doesn't agree with me.
bunyip 27 Posted February 8, 2016 Aww, that's too bad. Can you stand adding unflavored Protein powder to Soup or something else that you like? I've seen posts on here for GENEPRO protein--it has 30 grams of Protein per tablespoon and supposedly doesn't alter the texture of whatever you add it to. (Sorry if you've already tried this, but I thought it was worth a shot mentioning it.)
Newlife4nita 1 Posted February 8, 2016 Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have not tried that Protein but I will look into it.
SactoWendy 17 Posted February 10, 2016 I had gastric on 1-12..one month ago. I've had no troubles, no nausea, and I can eat anything...and I mean anything including sugar. salad and meats are not a problem either as long as I chew well. My concern is that I don't feel the restriction they said I would feel when I started eating solid foods. I have to really be on my game or this isn't going to work for me. At my two week checkup, the surgeon said I could eat anything. I took him literally and I haven't lost a pound since. Monday I started meal planning and weighing my foods so I can start losing weight again. I have to remind myself that the surgery was a tool and not a fix. prdmommyof3 0 Posted February 18, 2016 Hey there! I had my surgery on 1/11 and am feeling, for the most part, great! I cannot eat very well yet. Greek yogurt and cottage cheese goes down great, but when it comes to my "moist meat", I have a difficult time. I'm down 20 pounds since surgery day, and my dr was not very happy with my loss. She thought I should have been down more. So, here we are a week later, and I haven't lost a single once since my 1 month appointment. This is very difficult!
