Lyndzee104 2 Posted February 1, 2016 Hi everyone I am two weeks post op and wondering if anyone is experiencing or has ever experienced lower back pain not only just after eating but mostly immediately after eating?
jj7481 363 Posted February 1, 2016 Sorry, just trying to clarify: Your back pain is after eating and for how long? Or, is it sustained? One of the common feelings for surgical patients is pressure leading to pain. Many times this can be due to excess gas or the body adjusting and healing to the new diet. Areas of concern would be if you are not passing gas or having bowel movements. And/or if you start seeing blood in your stool or urine.
Lyndzee104 2 Posted February 1, 2016 It is mostly after eating....very low in the back....no blood in urine...all good on the BM
otillie03103 123 Posted February 2, 2016 I experienced a lot of back pain shortly after the first sudden weight loss after the surgey. I was told it was my body readjusting to the weight change. I periodically experience it from time to time through my weight loss journey. I didn't experience it after eating though, but back pain after eating can be several complications from WLS including gallbladder issues, pancreatitis, ulcers, allergies (are you having issues with milk products now?), appendicitis, poor diet (we are in a state of malnutrition). Because some of these can be serious, I would definitely reach out to your surgeon.
Lyndzee104 2 Posted February 3, 2016 I think I've narrowed it down to gas....it happens after I eat and as soon as I start eating
