How can I still get food stuck right now while I am at work with my band empty and this is the food I have had before without problems, as I sit here so hungry in pain and cannot eat....so frustrating... Cervidae 2,389 Posted February 3, 2016 I don't know as much about the band vs. the sleeve and bypass, but it is my understanding that with an unfilled band, it should be difficult to get things stuck, if your stomach is healthy. Is it possible you have a stricture or scar tissue preventing your stomach from taking in food? I would talk to my surgery center, if I were you. I hope you feel better soon! My band has been empty for over 2 years, but I still have heartburn and can't eat vegetables or meats. food still gets stuck and I vomit and slime 2-3 times per week.
