Most insurances go by your initial weight, so I think so; but what's your starting bmi?

I think you'll be fine. Congrats on the loss! I'm sure the six months will be filled with ups and downs, so just keep at it

@@rnyjessica, I started my (7 month) program at 351 lbs, and gained an additional 10 lbs about 3 months in because of several food funerals....but I got my rear in gear and ended up losing 50 lbs making my pre-surgery weight 310. My surgeon submitted my paperwork with my initial weight of 351. Insurance approved it in 3 days.

My surgeon told me when I hit my weight to keep on going, yet I'm stuck in a rut for over a month now, I have to lose about 7 pounds by the 18th, it sounds so easy but it just hasn't budged. The surgeons office told me when I finish all my 6 month work up appointments and meet my weight requirement to call back to get scheduled one last time before surgery. The 18th is my last of the work up appointments! I want to do the happy dance but until i'm at weight I cant...

I have a question about the 6 months diet. For my insurance it says weight loss, stable weight but no weight gain. Does this mean i can't gain no weight in 6 months? Or, I can't gain weight over my starting weight?

I don't meet with my NUT for the first time in a couple weeks so I can't ask her.

Insurance companies typically go by your starting weight. Contact them for verification. Nevertheless, unless your BMI drops below 40 you should be good regardless.

No weight gain over the course of your diet, nutrition, and/ore exercise program. For my 13wk pre-op I stayed the exact same weight. My BMI dropped because my lean muscle mass increased. So, it's not just as simple as weight gain.

My insurance required me to lose at least 5% of my weight during my six month nutritionist-monitored diet and exercise plan. My heaviest weight was 298 pounds, so I had to lose basically 15 lbs. If I didn't, or if I gained weight, I wouldn't qualify as a candidate, and I'd have to start over. It was hard but I did it. It took all of the six months to lose. So know that you're blessed that you can either maintain or lose. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
