Ok thank you , I guess it depends on insurance regulations and state too ..well I'll keep my fingers crossed . If they don't cover it I'll pay out of pocket I'm desperate

Good luck Brenda28. You will do well. Many of us have had a variety of health challenges, and Bari surgery has been the best choice for us. I'm 70 and retired for a while, and my hope is to be more active again.

Wishing you all the best! Let us know how it goes with the insurance. Same here Jennah. I just became an RN 2 years ago and already see my career being cut short due to my health. I hate that I don't have the energy or drive to get outside and practice baseball with my son or ride bikes as a family. Doesn't help that I was 100 lbs lighter when I met my husband. He hasn't complained once about my wt gain but I want to be that happy, confident person he fell in love with and it just isn't happening when I can't stand to look at myself in a mirror. The person I think I am is not the same person I see in my reflection or in pics.

I'm down 2 notches on my watchband, and my jeans are really baggy. Almost time for a trip to Goodwill for some transitional clothes.

I love Goodwill!!! I wish they had a trade in program.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
