Recommended Posts

My update,

Weight on 8/14/15 was 502

Sleeved on 12/15/15 and weighed 443 that day. I'm now 321, have lost over 180 lbs since August of last year.

still have 71 to go to get to my goal but I'll make it soon enough.

Shirt size went from 7x to a 2x, pants from a 60 to a 46.

No longer on blood pressure or diabetic meds.

Averaging 2-4 pounds a week

Taking in 100+ oz Water and 100+ grams of Protein a day(most days)

So far only down side has been a little hair loss that started a month ago but seems to be better and still trying to deal with eating out but its getting easier

Well, I was sleeved 12/14/15....I have lost about 85 pounds since then....but weight loss is now slowed and stopping (still have about 40 pounds til goal) - but for a good reason! I am pregnant! It was a huge unplanned surprise...It looks like I got pregnant literally two months to the day after my surgery (whoops...Valentine's Day!)...and I still lost, albeit slower, during my first two trimesters. I am going into my third and have been advised not to lose at this point. Dr. still only expects me to gain 10-15 pounds - mostly baby weight...which will hopefully come back off fairly easily after baby is born once I am fully back on plan and breastfeeding...been a wonderful experience!!!!

Sleeved 12/29. Down 65 lbs from surgery date, 81 overall.

Shirt size from a 3x to XL, pants from 24 to 18.

I still have some hair loss, but have been fortunate that it hasn't been a ton.

I can eat just about anything, which is great, but also terrible. My weight loss has slowed, and I think I'm in the need to decide my future phase. I'm learning it definitely is work and surgery is just a tool.

i was sleeved 12/14/15. i started pre op at 292. Surgery 277. Lowest I got was 204 and bounce between 207 and 210 now. I have lost and gained the same 5 pounds for the last 5 months. I have to go into my surgeons office on Dec 13th weighing the same i did at 6 months post op. I feel so depressed about it. I am obsessed with my weight. It consumes my every thought. I walk between 25 and 30 miles a week. tracked by my microsoft band 2. i use MFP. Before surgery when i lost weight i had gone down to 201 and could never get below 200. Now after VSg I thought for sure I would've been there already.

TLDR: I lost great the first 6 months. Havent lost any since. Depressed.

Sleeved 12/15. I was 365ish. Im 270 now. Been stuck here for about 5 months now. I decided if I cant lose more at least i can maintain and enjoy the weight I did lose but it is still frustrating.

I'm a November 2015 sleeper, can I chime in?

Weighed 109kg, dropped to 82kg at the moment, that's 27kg lost.

But for the last three months I haven't had the scale move at all... major stall. My nutritionist said I wasn't eating enough and to concentrate on my Protein. So I'm making sure to have 5 meals a day, and around 75g of protein a day if I can. It's difficult sometimes.

I think i need to get exercising, which is hard with my shift work job. Thinking about hiring a treadmill.

Well done for all your progress!

It's good to know I'm not the only stall!

BW 403

SW 373

CW 266

I am thrilled with the loss so far, but definitely stalled the last 4 months. Lots of stress. Getting back on the wagon and logging my food, trying to add in exercise. I can't decide if my goal is 190 or 165. 190 is a personal goal, 165 puts me officially in the "not overweight" category.

Hey thanks for the updates, you are encouraging.

My progress is about as follows:

BW 315 (May 2015)

SW ~275

CW 230

So I've lost about as much before surgery as after...it's been pretty much at a stand still since August. But I'm also exercising a lot (1-2hrs per day, training for triathlons, etc). My dietician says that this is probably what's stopping loss. Idk. I know my calories aren't anywhere near the 1100 I was eating back with the liquid diet. It's hard to not be discouraged. But on the bright side, I've maintained the same weight for like 4 months which is a real miracle in the grand scheme. Hoping to drop another 20 or so. But my clinic says that I am a success as is - that they don't care if I lose more.

I was sleeved on 12/31/15. My starting weight was 262 and the last time I checked my weight which was a month ago I was 164. I'm happy with my progress I just need to hit the gym harder.

Hi all! I was sleeved 12/23/15.

SW: 236.2 lbs

CW: 165.2 lbs

I've lost 71 lbs overall. I have been very happy with my results! However, I am wanting to tone up more. I am starting an advocare 24 day challenge on Monday (2/6) and increasing my exercise (I've been slacking). I was wondering if anyone else has tried this???

cam I ask where you've fallen off discipline wise??

I'm very bad w getting in enough H20, however, my diet is VERY clean, in that I always commit to Protein & veggies.. however, I feel like I'm able to eat TOO Much @ one sitting..

I feel like I'm in the same boat, but I haven't had the best discipline post-op.

One thing I've been doing is tracking measurements in addition to weight, and sometimes that is even more encouraging. It seems like the the weeks where I lose inches are not the same weeks where I see a larger weight loss.

uughh I'm in the same boat.. question is.. WHY should we have to still resort to those measures when this "tool" was to help is?? NOT saying that I'm not willing to do the work, but damn! lol

I had my surgery in Oct 2015 and for some reason I have not lost a pound in months; I've stalled at 45 pounds lost. Going to back to see the dietician I saw before to see what she can tell me. I'm not sad I had this surgery, but was hoping for better results by now. I am going to go back on the 2 shakes a day and one small meal to see if that can end this stall.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
