OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted February 1, 2016 Quest makes Protein chips. The only flavor I have tried are the salt and vinegar and they are good. There are lots of lowcarb/keto cracker recipes, just look around. Also you can cut cucumber in slices and get a nice crunch from that. I use cucumber as crackers and put ham and a dab of cheese on top of them.

msjg46 39 Posted February 1, 2016 Thanks guys! I hope I make it through this hurtle as it has been the only thing I really crave right now. Can't have cukes yet and love Pork rinds but again not on the list. Will look into the Quest products.
Stevehud 1,790 Posted February 2, 2016 very subjective taste for the Quest chips, we tried them at a Vitamin shoppe and even the staff was ready to throw up on them, we tried all the varieties, i distinctly remember the cheddar tasted like cardboard impregnated with smelly dirt that was orange..lol
BarrySue 602 Posted February 2, 2016 I indulge in crunchy things, and have done so since month 2. I had a lot of issues with vomiting/nausea early on, and I lived on Peanut Butter and crackers for a month (with the approval of my doc). I still eat a 100 calorie bag of popcorn, chips, or crackers every day, and it's satisfying without being an overindulgence/trigger. In fact, that little treat of taste/texture has helped me through the subsequent months of de-programming my brain/body to not crave carbs/sugar. My advice? If you crave crunchy, do crunchy. You don't set yourself up for long term success through deprivation and misery. You do it by finding serviceable substitutes and things you can live with. If you want an apple, hell, eat an apple. Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted February 2, 2016 You can have crunchy things once you are cleared for all foods and can tolerate them and/or they fit in your program. The initial food stages are based on texture so you can heal from surgery. Until you are cleared for denser/crunchier foods, try sugar free Popsicles and/or crushed ice. Patience! CynthiaAnn 59 Posted February 3, 2016 Totally agree with BarrySue! If you want crunch, have crunch! I find if I deny myself something I really want it becomes a big craving. I have been eating the 100 calorie bags of Skinny Pop popcorn and love it. I also eat the individual sized bags of Veggie Strips. They are ok.
FrankyG 1,450 Posted February 3, 2016 I will eat things like Pork rinds and very rarely some crackers in small amounts now. But my favorite thing to eat for crunch currently is red pepper strips. My go-to lunch is chicken salad (made with canned chicken, green onions, light mayo, celery, red grapes and a touch of curry powder - it is AMAZING) and I used to eat that with crackers... but sweet red pepper strips are so good with this, it's all I want to eat now. Very satisfying crunch too! Husband even switched from crackers to the red pepper strips after trying. Carrots are also a great snack when I'm craving crunchy. Kathy812 794 Posted February 4, 2016 My go-to lunch is chicken salad (made with canned chicken, green onions, light mayo, celery, red grapes and a touch of curry powder - it is AMAZING) . I read on another thread where someone substituted mayo w/plain greek yogurt and added crumbled blue cheese and Hotsauce(buffalo chicken salad). It is DELISH. Can't remember if the recipe called for dried cranberries but I add that too. Eat it once a week- off topic, sorry, Just had to share.
