Am I eating too little? too much? not enough real food? Please "weigh in" (pardon the pun).

6:30 AM Premier Protein Drink 160 calories 30 g Protein

7:15 AM Water 16 oz 0 0

8:45 AM Water 16 oz 0 0

10:30 AM Yogurt Dannon Greek Lite 80 calories 12 g protein

11:15 AM Water 16 oz. 0 0

12:45 PM Egg boiled 70 calories 6 g protein

1:45 PM Quest Protein Bar 170 calories 20 g protein

3:00 PM Propel Vitamin Drink 16 oz 0 0

5:00 PM Yogurt Dannon Greek lite 80 calories 12 g protein

7:00 PM Water 16 oz 0 0

8:30 PM chicken breast/ 400 calories 25 g protein

black beans/broccoli

Totals 80 oz 960 calories 105 g protein.

This is REAL CLOSE to what I am doing daily, sometimes eating tuna salad for lunch instead of a protein bar, and having different varieties for supper. What do you think?

Quest bars are actually incredibly low in carbohydrates, 4-5 net carbs, with most of it made up by Fiber. That looks like a decent meal plan to me, but post-op vets who are further out than I am would probably be more qualified to weigh in (pun not intended) on it.

I am nearly at 3 months and that is pretty close to what my meal plan looks like. Just like you, I use Greek yogurt as a mid-morning & mid-day snack. I have a Quest bar for Breakfast and have generally stopped drinking Protein shakes. Instead, I tend to eat 3 oz of turkey breast or lean roast beef at lunch. I wind up right around 100g of Protein and 850-900 calories.

I have Quest bars 1-3 times a month. The net carbs are low, but they are a really processed item. I keep on in my purse just for emergencies.

i'd drop the egg and the Protein bar for lunch and have baked fish, grilled chicken, deli ham or something.

i would also trade the yogurts for like a Syntrax nectar.

You will feel more satisfied with eating real food, that is denser. Fish is not dense but it is more filling than yogurt. You are eating a lot of processed food and sneaking in a lot of unnecessary carbs.

This isn't a bad menu now and then for busy days but I wouldn't eat like this every day. I also wouldn't pack in so many calories at dinner. I would have that dinner meal at lunch and the lunch meal at dinner.

At 3 months you are still healing. When you get further out, like 5 or 6 months. Those yogurts are not going to satisfy you you are going to be constantly hungry. You need more real solid food, and build a habit of it. Quest bars, depending on what bar you choose, don't last in the stomach that long either.

At 3 months I did one or 2 Protein shakes a day and the rest was baked fish. Quest bars as emergency/treat food only. Like if I wanted fruit I had a quest fruit flavored bar instead.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
