jj7481 363 Posted January 30, 2016 Which stage diet are you on? Are you on soft foods as in Stage 2 diet which is post op to 4 wks? Presuming this the only thing allowed is non-sugar added applesauce. If you are on stage 3 then the only allowed WHOLE fruit are bananas. Outside of this are anything mashed up or pureed. Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 31, 2016 What kind of fruits can I have on soft food diet? Didn't your NUT provide you with a list/written food plan? What does it recommend?
Dar200 285 Posted January 31, 2016 My list said soft canned fruits with no sugar added (in their own juice) fruits. Like canned pears or little mandarin oranges. You can mush them up because they are real soft. Said not to eat bananas because they are too sweet and can cause dumping.
Sajijoma 1,324 Posted February 1, 2016 Mine said applesauce with no sugar added, canned peaches or pears in Water with no sugar were about it for the soft stage. She said especially not to eat the membranes of oranges because they can be really rough on your digestive system at that point. I sucked the juice out of a couple of segments of clementine and was ok, but I spit the pulp out. In a few more weeks, your choices will really open up. I try to have 1 fruit a day whether it's a peeled Apple, a few slices of banana, a couple of strawberries, or watermelon chunks. You're almost there!
