Caroline84 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Hi... Well, I recently (and randomly) discovered this and I'm not sure what I could take out of it but there's no harm in trying, I suppose. I'm 23 years old and I'm scheduled to have a lapband surgery this coming Tuesday. Needless to say, I'm really scared ...not just by one particular aspect of it, but of everything, from the actual surgery, to the idea of the foreign element in my body, to realistically transforming my diet or getting sick. It all seems so overwhelming.:think Any words of advice from anyone who's experienced this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
shannon9227 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Hey Caroline! well I to am going to be banded this Tuesday! I'm in Florida. I am 29 years old and I am, needless to say, very nervous, excited and anxious! Reading these threads really helped me, the list of what to have pre surgery was great. and I really enjoyed doing my ticker tape another great tool in assisting my weight loss..today I have done all my laundry, watched the live video of the banding( think twice before doing that!), went grocery shopping for post foods, packed my hospital bag, and laptop, then I took some pre-op photo's for comparison, all in which helped ease my mind, and keep me busy! Thats all I can do..
TerriDoodle 6 Posted July 29, 2007 Every single one of us on this board have been thru those pre-op jitters. But you just have to trust that you wouldn't be hearing such enthusiastic ravings about our bands if they weren't WONDERFUL. Just keep reading the posts, look at the Before and After thread 100 times and get yourself a band, girlfriend!

Caroline84 0 Posted July 30, 2007 Thank you guys for the words of encouragment. I still know, being the sissy sensitive girl that I am that I'll definitely be crying on the day of surgery lol...but i'm sure it will be worth it and best of luck to all of you as well
Iluvharleys 15 Posted July 30, 2007 You are just going through all the "normal" feelings. If you weren't nervous and excited too, I would be worried you weren't normal. Just keep busy, do some walks, read all you can about the band so you'll be well informed, and things will be over before you know it. Good Luck!
