Since Surgery (3 Weeks) I find myself freezing at night. Where I need to have 2 heavy blankets on (Long Sleeve Shirt, PJ bottoms & socks) an I can never seem to get warm! My feet freeze during the day. I was always the one that was hot, you could feel heat coming off me. Is this normal?

I'm about 3 weeks out as well. I am always cold too. For some that has commented about this before, it's their new norm. I used to wear my sandals 365 days a year, snow and all. I am wearing shoes and socks now ????

I am 7 weeks post op and I am still freezing all the time. I was just like you and was always the hot one, always had my fan blowing on me at work. Now I have my heater blowing on me. It's crazy the difference!

I'm almost 5 months out and still have "cold" days. I sleep with 3 blankets, long sleeve shirt and pajama pants and STILL turn on the electric blanket. Some days are worse then other but I have found if I let my self get really cold it's almost impossible to warm back up.

I personally didn't start getting cold until I started really losing weight but being cold is my new norm. This is coming from someone that used to break a sweat just cooking Breakfast. Now, it is not uncommon for me to have on thermals or long johns under my scrubs or jeans.

I was cold at first, but it balanced out. I am still a lot cooler than in the past, but not freezing all the time.

Around 4 months out, I started having a more normal temperature. Still run more on the cool side, but to be expected with 130 lbs less of fat on my frame. It is REALLY nice in the summer time however not breaking a crazy sweat everytime I go outside.

The first 4 months I was cold all the time...even in Florida and Texas in the summer time.

Same thing for me. 6 weeks out and I'm cold all the time almost. And definitely at night. My wife sleeps hot and I always used to. But I now have an extra blanket folded in half over only my half of the bed! And we're constantly fighting with the thermostat haha. My assumption is that I'm losing fat insulation which is a good thing :)

My feet are cold ... Often.

I have gone so far as to take the hair dryer and warm up my ugg boots or slippers before wearing.

I have electric heating pads in 2 spots that I use daily, and an electric heating blanket on my bed.

It is inconvenient, but I like it better than sweating. My take is that all the insulation of fat is almost gone.

I also note I get colder if I don't eat much that day.

Still, I prefer being healthy over being warm.... Spring is around the corner ????

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
