Premier Protein Ins. Coverage

Recommended Posts

Hello, I saw a post or a link a few months that someone posted about Premier Protein drinks and shakes. The link sent you to a website to see if your insurance would cover Premier if your doc wrote a script. I have missed that link and I can't find the post, would anyone have that information? Thank you

I went through the website and applied and they called me the next day to verify my insurance info and ask if i wanted the other products that they offer before they run my insurance. I then get a call the day after that telling me that my insurance does not cover any of it. Sad. Oh well.

My friend has been getting her shakes from Insure for about 6 months and she said that hers was stopped on the first of the year. She talked to a lady at the surgeons office yesterday and was told that Insures contracts with the insurance company didn't get renewed and they are trying to fix it now so it should be approved eventually for us but not sure how long.

Insurenutrition.com went out of business... anyone have an alternative?

Yes please. I would love to know if this is still available. Any other link or somewhere to apply? I tried premierprotein.com and could not find anywhere that showed insurance coverage.

knowing how many insurance companies( and yes they are definitely seeking good profits not to do good for others) rationlize things, bariatric shakes are a vanity, item, not normal for healthy nutritional pursuit. Not saying,I agree but then these are the same people who told me pregnancy was an avoidable disease and why should they have to extend maternity coverage? Yep happened to me personally.😫

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
