ladybunny 27 Posted January 26, 2016 Let me start off by saying the whole time i was in the hospital my temp never made is to 98.6 it stayed in the 97.something range. My body temp is naturally on the lower end of the scale. So today i went to the doctor for a normal visit and i was running a low grade fever of 99.4. I knew that i wasnt feeling well when I woke up today but didnt think I was running a fever. My pain medicine has tylenol in it so I would think that would help, but has anyone else had the same thing happen to them and if so what did you do.
rking 484 Posted January 26, 2016 How many days post op are you? I always get low grade fever after every surgery. With the sleeve I got it both nights in the hospital. It made me feel horrible. Tylenol brought it down. Generally, they say not to worry about low grade fever after surgery.

Knitchic 97 Posted January 30, 2016 Make sure you don't have any puffiness around any incisions. I had a similar experience and come to find out I had contracted a staph infection in the hospital. I don't want to scare you! Just keep an eye on the incision sites.
Dar200 285 Posted January 30, 2016 I would suggest keeping an eye on your temperature as well. I usually run a below normal temp so when I got home from the hospital and started running a temp around 100, I called my PCP. I suspected a UTI so she checked my urine and sure enough that was it. Five days later my temp started back up and I was losing my voice so I went back in. She diagnosed bronchitis this time so another round of antibiotics for me. I don't remember ever having bronchitis before. I think my immune system just went crazy because of losing so much weight (18 pounds) so fast (5 weeks) and then had surgery almost immediately. Keep an eye on that temp and take care of yourself!
