I had my surgery on January 13, and my recovery had been pretty easy except for an allergic reaction to the glue and some drainage from the large incision.

I'm returning to work tomorrow for the first time in 2 weeks. I have a desk job. My job is very stressful. I only plan to work like 5 hours for the first day, just to ease my way make in. I'm just worried about sitting up so much. Like I said I had it pretty easy with little pain after the first 48 hours. I just hope I don't go backwards. How did others feel after returning to work?

I returned to a desk job after 10 days. I didn't have any major problems.

I have a mostly desk job. I did fine until about midway through the afternoon, when my energy just crashed, so I went home. I think going in for 5 hours the first day is a good plan.

My main issue when I came back to work was fatigue. It was very tough to make it through a full day. I ended up just going straight to bed as soon as I got home for the first week or so. It got significantly better once I was able to get more calories in as I progressed through the food stages.

I'm gonna be repetitive and say my only issue was I was SO FREAKING TIRED. By 1:30 everyday I was wiped. I made it until 5..but it was tough! haha

I didn't have hardly any pain issues post op and didn't find that sitting up at my desk caused any either.

Also: I went back exactly one week after my surgery. Was sleeved on a Monday, went back the next Monday.

I also work a desk job, although not a stressful one. I went back on a Wednesday and only worked noon-4 or 5 pm. I was absolutely drained and exhausted when it was time to go home. By the second week, I was still low on energy but was able to put in a full 8-hour day. I had some hiccups along the way and took random days off due to nausea, fatigue, etc.

My job is moderately stressful, but I came back after one week. As others have said, fatigue was my biggest obstacle to working full 8-hr days that first week. Once I was able to get more Protein in this improved.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
