Hi. I just joined today. I was sleeves on January 13th. I've been home about a week. Still on liquids only. Getting really tired of that, hoping tomorrow they will let me advance my diet. I'm still having pain in the largest of my incisions (the one the stomach came out of). Haven't really had any other issues with keeping things down other then the very first day after the surgery.

There's a lot of information out there about what comes next and much of it seems to contradict itself. I've read eating small amounts of carbs prevents hair loss, some books tell you to go with "real" food and other encourage processed diet type food (fat free sugar free)

Any suggestions on how to navigate this sea of information?

Thanks.

Jenny

@@jennylizz - No. It's a puzzle. I'd go very high Protein initially and then study and track how your system works. We are all the same in that we are all different.

hi!!! Welcome to our world. There is not easy way to solve this puzzle. I say start with one issue and find a resolution then move to another one. So starts with wound care, then Water, then food. Then exercise.

We have all been where you are so we know how to help. Ask away.....

I've found that regularly eating foods that are high in good fats has helped me. So I try and eat one or two avocados a week since the majority of the other food I eat is naturally low in fat. When I eat cheese or things like that, I buy the full fat versions as well. The fat doesn't seem to have slowed my weight loss, down 86 pounds since my surgery in July, and I haven't had problems with my hair falling out. Good luck to you on your journey and prayers for a speedy recovery ????
