Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 24, 2016 I just put some cauliflower with olive oil and an herb seasoning in my toaster oven to roast. This is the first time I am roasting cauliflower. What are you favorite, easy ways to cook or eat cauliflower?
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted January 24, 2016 @InnerSurferGirl, I love cauliflower! Roasting it like you said is a great way to get started! You can also do all of those popular recipes that substitute cauliflower for something high-carb – like pureed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes, pulverized and stir-fried cauliflower for fried rice (you can add veggies and eggs and chicken), and even cauliflower pizza with cauliflower and cheese for a crust. I haven’t tried that one yet, but it sure looks interesting. I love putting cauliflower into almost anything, such as Pasta sauce. You can also puree cauliflower with pretty much anything and use it as a dip. You can do cauliflower with imitation crab or sardines, for example, or cauliflower with non-fat cream cheese and some dill, other herbs, or a packet or ranch or Italian seasoning mix or onion Soup mix. Can’t wait to see what everyone else offers!
tera1982 194 Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) http://www.popsugar.com/fitness/Low-Carb-Cauliflower-Crust-Pizza-Recipe-30739512 It is a great alternative when the rest of the family is eating "regular" pizza. I have recently come across the post about nutritional yeast and sprinkle some of that on the crust...delicious and adds protein! Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 24, 2016 My roasted cauliflower turned out great. I added a bit of grated Romano cheese at the end. My apartment doesn't smell so good but it was delicious.

catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 25, 2016 I put cauliflower (and pretty much any other vegetable I find in my fridge) into stir fry dishes all the time.
rastus 35 Posted January 25, 2016 Cauliflower, brussels sprouts & broccoli [plus most other vegetables cut into bite sized/diced chunks e.g. potato, carrot, parsnip etc] come out wonderfully well cooked in a vegetable stock, with later added coconut milk & Keens curry powder to individual taste. This makes a veggy packed, lovely smooth tasting, lightly curried sauce, most of the family will love. Make sure to add vegetables in correct cooking sequence [like potato first] so none will be overcooked. Really nice tasty accompaniment with grilled Protein [meat/fish/chicken] of choice. Djmohr 6,965 Posted January 25, 2016 I love cauliflower chowder. A wonderful cheesy cauliflower Soup and you can add ham or back to it. The recipe is on Pinterest. It is delicious. I also use it for stir fry, puréed, cauliflower rice, cauliflower and broccoli cheese casserole with chicken. It is my favorite vegetable! You can add ham or bacon to cauliflower chowder
rastus 35 Posted January 25, 2016 What are you favorite, easy ways to cook or eat cauliflower? You can throw that nasty crap in the trash. YUCK! I was taught by my grandfather to try anything, as far s food goes & never say anything negative about something you have not tried. What one might do easily with cauliflower is the topic of this thread & perhaps a positive contribution would be much more appropriate than talking 'crap'? Babbs 14,681 Posted January 25, 2016 Cauliflower Fried "Rice"! I made this a couple weeks ago, and it turned out yummy! RECIPE: - Cauliflower - 1 Tbsp. of sesame oil - 1 Tbsp. of garlic - 8 oz beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, or tofu - 1 cup of diced carrots - 1 cup of frozen peas - 2 eggs - White pepper to taste - 3 Tbsp. of soy sauce - Chopped green onions for garnish Break down a head of cauliflower in a food processor until it’s the size of rice. Heat sesame oil over high. Add garlic and fry until fragrant. Add the beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, or tofu and cook until 80% done. Add carrots and peas, stir until thoroughly incorporated. Push ingredients to the sides of the pan to create a well. Pour in 2 whisked eggs and let it set for 15 seconds. Scramble eggs and fold into the cauliflower rice. Season with white pepper and stir in soy sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions.
