Good luck! I'm 9 months out and 132 lbs down and it's one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I'm having my surgery on the 8th of February (OMG!). I'm so excited I can barely stand it. It has been a long 9 months getting to this point. I have my nutrition class Tuesday and my husband is finally going with to one of my meetings, he's always working or in school. I'm anxious to learn what else I need to do. I've been reading and watching everything I can get my hands on (I'm a nerd what can I say) as well as talking to others who have already been through this. So I think I'm as prepared as I can be.

Good luck to all of you that are getting ready to join this special group of people that have chosen life and health over food.< /p>

How are you feeling, Tammy?

SHOTzY...how are you feeling?

HEY @@DDN!! Thanks for asking! Today is my 3day at hospital, and they say I'm doing fab!!! Sure, the pain is real-it's major surgery and it's a serious event for you're body. The nurses are keeping my pain under control, they encourage my Fluid intake, and they come and take me walking several times in an 8hr shift. I'm so grateful-and very humbled-by the kindness and straight talk we can get here amount the forums. It's like a whole other world opening to me. To each one getting ready to have your surgery, to all who had it on the 8th as I did ( and I'm trying to follow all of you!!!) you can and will make it! You will move past the immediate soreness and recovery. You've come so far and done so much. Our reward is there for the taking. Yes!! We have to work for it!! It is sweeter when you have done it all: For you, By you, Because you love yourself that much.

And we have all our buddies here to help us!! Big hugs to EVERYBODY ????

I feel ya and you speak truth...glad I made the decision to have GPS...I'm so looking forward to a better quality of life. I'm up @ 4am working on my last 12 Fluid ounces to meet the quota for discharge. Everyone at Centennial Hospital has been 5* and they have treated me like their own family members and made me feel right at home, but I'm ready to go home and see my family.

This is day 4 for me and I'm noticing that as the swelling continues to go down I am able to tolerate more liquids. I'm excited about that...I really thought that the initial feeling of being very very very full would be there forever and I didn't know how I would keep pressing past that feeling and take in the required amount of daily fluids. It's just like everyone has said, things get better everyday.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
