MIMISAN 404 Posted January 22, 2016 I know this sounds nutty but years ago when I was on a diet called Protein power, I am sure that there was a section that mentioned stalls. One suggestion they had was donating blood because that tended to put your body back to work to replace the blood and that it can many times pull you through a stall. If this is true WONDERFUL and if not....WONDERFUL, the blood helps someone.
FrankyG 1,450 Posted January 22, 2016 I donate blood (platelets/plasma) regularly. I don't see any significant weight loss during these times. But I've heard it will burn around 600 calories within a 3 day period after donating while you body replaces the donation. I do eat one of the small chip bags (or cookies) after because they won't let you leave without eating, so I kind of figure that offsets the calories I might burn. It certainly can't hurt and you would be helping out someone in need. But don't forget, stalls are not always non-productive. You could be losing fat and gaining muscle during this time, and your body may just be taking a breather before losing 5 pounds in a week or two.
Proud2BMe 1,016 Posted January 22, 2016 Sounds as much legit as sacrificing a virgin by throwing her into a volcano. With stalls you just got to make sure you are absolutely doing the diet correctly and are getting in exercise. If you are eating too many carbs then cut them out. If you are doing everything as you should then remain calm and patient and eventually your stall will break.
