Once a week. I found measuring to be more helpful. I'd do it as soon as possible. It makes the inevitable stalls more bearable. When the scale doesn't move for weeks, I'd measure and see "yes you are shrinking, chill out."

If you can understand that the scale will fluctuate and then sometimes not move for weeks at a time without it driving you crazy, by all means weigh every day. If seeing those fluctuations and stalls are going to drive you crazy, then limit yourself to once a week or even once a month so you don't see them.

I weigh once a week and totally agree it sucks when the number isn't want you thought it should be.

Once a week in the beginning if you don't want to go completely insane. I tracked my weight every Monday morning in a spreadsheet. Make sure you are always weighing yourself under the same conditions. I always weighed first thing in the morning, naked, after having used the bathroom.

I now weigh daily as I'm in maintenance and there seems to be a general consensus that weighing daily in maintenance can help prevent regain. But I take the daily fluctuations in stride and only worry if I get close to the top or bottom of the little goal range I have set for myself.

How often do you guys weigh in after surgery?? I'm getting excited but I don't wanna become scale crazy?

Thoughts please!

Right after surgery I only weighed at my doctors appointments.

I have to weigh everyday due to my heart condition. I have to watch if there is too much fluctuation and take meds accordingly. I only count my weight on Mondays regarding weightloss.

I am a daily weigher. I have had to learn that my weight is going to fluctuate and I have had to learn not to let the scale dictate my mood.

The scale is only 1 barometer of how you are doing. The most important is how you feel, the second is how your clothes are fitting then the scale last.

It's completely up to you to figure out what keeps you on track and motivated. For me, tracking everything I eat good or bad and weighing daily keeps me on track.

I weigh everyday. I'm addicted to the scale ????. My nutritionist says to weight once a week on Wednesday's. Research shows Wednesday's are the day we weigh the least during the week.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
