sumbrown 26 Posted January 21, 2016 How often do you guys weigh in after surgery?? I'm getting excited but I don't wanna become scale crazy? Thoughts please!
OKCPirate 5,323 Posted January 21, 2016 Once a week. I found measuring to be more helpful. I'd do it as soon as possible. It makes the inevitable stalls more bearable. When the scale doesn't move for weeks, I'd measure and see "yes you are shrinking, chill out." Babbs 14,681 Posted January 21, 2016 If you can understand that the scale will fluctuate and then sometimes not move for weeks at a time without it driving you crazy, by all means weigh every day. If seeing those fluctuations and stalls are going to drive you crazy, then limit yourself to once a week or even once a month so you don't see them.
Sgt7546 69 Posted January 21, 2016 I weigh once a week and totally agree it sucks when the number isn't want you thought it should be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted January 21, 2016 Once a week in the beginning if you don't want to go completely insane. I tracked my weight every Monday morning in a spreadsheet. Make sure you are always weighing yourself under the same conditions. I always weighed first thing in the morning, naked, after having used the bathroom. I now weigh daily as I'm in maintenance and there seems to be a general consensus that weighing daily in maintenance can help prevent regain. But I take the daily fluctuations in stride and only worry if I get close to the top or bottom of the little goal range I have set for myself.

GibbsGirl 483 Posted January 21, 2016 I have to weigh everyday due to my heart condition. I have to watch if there is too much fluctuation and take meds accordingly. I only count my weight on Mondays regarding weightloss.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted January 21, 2016 I am a daily weigher. I have had to learn that my weight is going to fluctuate and I have had to learn not to let the scale dictate my mood. The scale is only 1 barometer of how you are doing. The most important is how you feel, the second is how your clothes are fitting then the scale last. It's completely up to you to figure out what keeps you on track and motivated. For me, tracking everything I eat good or bad and weighing daily keeps me on track. katiern 17 Posted January 21, 2016 I weigh everyday. I'm addicted to the scale ????. My nutritionist says to weight once a week on Wednesday's. Research shows Wednesday's are the day we weigh the least during the week.
