BrightEyes42 22 Posted January 20, 2016 I have worked for months to get to this point... My surgery is in five days... This liquid preop diet is getting to me... I live with 4 other people and all their cooking is making me crazy... I was lighting candles in my room so I couldn't smell it... I haven't cheated and I won't... I just needed to vent

Dub 9,922 Posted January 20, 2016 Thank you... I'm trying... You're right... Some days are just harder than others So true !!! You are doing great......gut check time is what the pre-op diet should be called. LOL. It's the "how bad do I really want to do this thing" period. I can say that it was the toughest part for me. Everything that came later was much easier to deal with. Sure there are periods when my scale readings will just hang up for a few days....two weeks or more at a time.....but then start dropping again. I tend to get antsy during these times. You are doing great.....stay the course and know that you'll be back to a normal....be it a new normal....in just a few weeks. By the beginning of my second month post-op it just seemed like everything fell into place. The abdominal hernia that was repaired during the sleeve surgery started feeling normal and I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been a cakewalk ever since. Speaking of walking......maybe you can go out for walks during the normal times those other folks are cooking & eating.

I feel like it's help me mentally prepare so I can focus on physical healing after. It's absolutely worth it. Hang in there, it'll go by fast!
