Gonna start cream Soup later.

I became a connoisseur of cream Soups post-op, once i was allowed to have strained cream soups. My favorites were cream of shrimp (Campbell's makes a condensed version you mix with milk) and Progresso's chicken cheese Enchilada. I don't know where you live, but if you have a Wegmans near by (it's a grocery store chain) they occasionally have Buffalo chicken Chowder on their hot soup bar and it is the greatest thing God ever invented in the full liquids phase!

those flavored weren't too hard on you?! I just tried Tomato Soup almost threw up. Could have been too much sugar in it.

Well, I wasn't allowed strained cream soups until 10 days post-op. Don't think I'd try anything like that where you are, only 3-4 days post-op. Plus I didn't have any nausea at all past my second day post-op. Pain, fullness, discomfort, pressure, etc. at various times, but not nausea.

I also had mine 1/18/16. I hated pca pump with dilaudid made me nauseous. The sent me home on norco I just cut them in half. I only have pain in 1 spot on my belly left side like a intense burning. Anyone else having that? I am still getting left shoulder pain from gas, gas x strips and a heating pad help. I am now 10 days post op and 10# down since surgery. Good luck!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
