Im the first surgery of the day...so trying to get an idea. My leak test was exactly 24hrs after surgery and the contrast that u have to drink is beyond disgusting. They approved me to drink tho within an hr

lovinmeisez 5 Posted March 5, 2016 Ugh!!! Yeah the "devils nectar" is the best i have heard it called. Lol So what did you all take to the hospital? Anything you wish you DID or DIDNOT take? They didn't allow me to shower so honestly all I used was the clothes I wore there and a hair brush. Everything else could've been left home
Kathy Krebs Robertson 30 Posted March 5, 2016 No shower here either. I brought 2 piece pj's to wear, mouth spray, my tablet and phone. Don't forget phone charger. I had the leak test the following day, 24 hours later and then I could drink. My main problem was my oxygen levels, too low ,so I had to sleep with a cpap the first night. Juhygtfrdsd 154 Posted March 5, 2016 If your look at my picture i posted a few days ago i have extremely long hair...my co worker gonna braid it for me. Ill wear a bandana to keep it nice...so i wont need to wash my hair...i can NOT have a shower this gonna suck...but you can sponge bath right? I have a cpap machine now so i am debating to bring it with me. Yup phone is for sure, chap stick, gas strips etc...i actually live down the street from the hospital so even if i forgot something no big deal....

slimmingdownin16 2 Posted March 5, 2016 Hi I'm new here. I am having my surgery at Mt Auburn on April 4th by Dr Shah. Margie122 I think I was at immersion day with your mom and you in December. I have a couple questions. Why can't you shower in hospital? I have sleep apnea so will I need to bring my own machine? What else is a must have at hospital? Kathy Krebs Robertson 30 Posted March 6, 2016 Usually you can shower as long as the doctor writes an order for it, I really wasn't up to it on the day after surgery then the next day I wanted one but she hadn't written an order, I didn't push it because I was going home that day.
