Thanks guys! I've barely exercised since my surgery so I weigh less, but I'm out of shape now lol.

Do you have any physical ailments preventing you from exercising? If not, you should definitely start trying to fit in more exercise or at least physical activity. It will be critical in maintenance and likely make losing the last 50 pounds a little easier too.

Oh yes I completely agree! No the only thing keeping me from exercising is myself. I did workout on Friday and am about to do another workout in just a minute. My goal for this week is to exercise 2x between Monday and Friday and then next week I'll up it to 3x. I think if I try to do much more than that, I'll be too sore to moveI work on the weekends and get about 10,000-16,000 steps in on each of those two days so I think I'm good to go on exercise on Sat and Sun lol

Well it's been 3 years since I posted, and thought I'd share my experience with those beginning their journey. My surgery was October 31, 2012, and I was 305 pounds. Now I'm 190 pounds. I can eat pretty much as a normal person, but with a small little governor on my stomach. I still avoid breads and starches, because they fill me up so fast. I have completely embraced the healthy fitness oriented lifestyle. Everything in my life is better than before. My piece of wisdom after all this, is that the sleeve will provide a good jump start, but if you don't take ownership of your body, success will be short lived. Good luck to everyone. The first two pics are from 2011, the last is from this week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
