I have to get dressed tomorrow ????

Recommended Posts

Ok, so this may be a silly topic and I could honestly still wear my pj bottoms to work(the office is at my moms house). I just don't want to be one of "those people" in public with my pjs on lol. I haven't even tried my clothes on since I've been home.

What did you wear in those early days after surgery?

Sweat pants and track pants. It was depressing having to put back on the corporate garb after my disability ended.

I feel your pain!! I wore loose cotton nightgowns and robes for almost two weeks. I am short and the waistband of all my pants sat right on top of one of my incisions. When I finally started wearing my pants again they were a lot looser. In hindsight I should have purchased a few pairs of loose sweatpants or yoga pants.

I have high waist pants too and the incision at my bellybutton is the worst one. My jeans will be right there. It has been so nice wearing pjs everyday. I've had such a great day that im attempting to go to work tomorrow.

I wore yoga pants under my belly and my boyfriends hoodies and tshirts out in public. I wore dresses and tights when I had to go somewhere fancy

I wore flowy, loose skirts to work the first week I was back with cotton, soft leggings underneath. I didn't like my stomach being totally free, and the soft leggings over my incisions made me feel better. The skirt made me look like a professional, lol, and no one could see the leggings underneath.

How about wearing a bra? I'm going 6 days out and I can't put one one. I wear an underwire one. One of my incision is right in the middle where the bra would lay. ( any bra)

I wore an old pair of yoga pants, that turned into paint pants along the way haha.. I wore a lose shirt and even a Bra. Overall not a big deal..I had my husband stop at Walmart on the way home for me to buy some new yoga pants and a couple shirts.. (2 sizes smaller!! Yahoo) but the trip had me sooo tired that I took an hour nap when I got home lol

I'm a smidge over a month out and that incision is still a little sore from my bra rubbing on it. My WL provider suggested keeping it covered with gauze pads, but I've been lazy with that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
