I'm sorry if this is a dumb question!!! .... I have about 7 medications/vitamins that I am supposed to take every day. Four of them are huge! I've tried the "crushing in applesauce" technique, but they are hard to get down. Is there any reason why I can't just put them in my Ninja (blender) with my Protein shakes? (I was sleeved on 12/29.) Any other tips on taking all these pills and Vitamins in MUCH appreciated! Thank you!!

Have you talked to your pharmacist to see if you can get them in chewable or liquid form?

And you probably know this, but just in case -- don't crush anything without clearing it with a pharmacist or similar first -- many medications lose their efficacy if crushed.

If they are safe to crush, I don't see any reason why a Ninja wouldn't work. I think it will probably just make whatever is coming out of the Ninja taste terrible though :(

If ask the prescribing Doctor or pharmacist about the medications, especially anything that comes in a capsule or other type of extended release pill. The Vitamins should be ok to blend as long as you plan to drink the shake/smoothie immediately and pay attention to absorption incompatibilities like not taking Calcium and Iron at the same time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
