Sex after the sleeve

The surgery is not that bad. It just feels like you were punched or kicked in the stomach. Theoretically you could begin whenever you wanted or feel comfortable to. Ask your doctor.

This depends on how you are feeling. As long as your partner is aware of the surgery and plans to be careful, I don't see an issue. For me it was around day 10 only because my hubby was not in town, I am sure it would have been a few days sooner had he been here. Take that back he probably would have made me wait anyway. He is an overprotective one. I really did not have pain etc. from surgery.

It took me 4 weeks. I got my period twice after surgery and was not in the mood what so ever, lol. Since then he can't get me to stop, lmao! ????

Like someone else said here about 10 days after being released from the hospital and back home.

Two weeks, but I am old. If I were even a decade younger, I probably could have indulged at one week, but not with any energy on my part - just pleasant availability.

A few minutes after becoming coherent in my hospital room.

Sprung and ready.

Couldn't be helped. My surgeon had 4 smoking hot med students with him during my pre-op appointments and throughout my surgery and first post op visit. They were all leaning in....hair down...surgical gear off....leaning in and speaking soothing voices as I woke up. I thought I'd died and was in greener pastures for a second.

I don't recall how long it was before I felt up to it, but it was a few years before I experienced it (i assure you, I felt up to it well before 2 years!)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
