Miss Mac 6,262 Posted January 17, 2016 I don't know if they firm anything, but by exfoliating in the shower and then applying moisturizing lotion or almond oil, my belly is a soft as the proverbial baby's butt.
glitter eyes 1,398 Posted January 17, 2016 I have tried almost everything. Tons of over the counter firming lotion brands, bio oil, rose hip oil, caster oil, emu oil, coconut oil, various essential oils.... Nothing seemed to make a difference to me. I think the skin tightening back up after weight loss depends on a lot of uncontrollable things; such as age, genetics, beginning weight etc. I had lost a lot of weight in my early 30's and all my skin tightened up wonderfully. Now I am 44 and things did not go back quite as well this time. So for me age was a huge factor. However, I say try it all- something may work for you. 2goldengirl 2,076 Posted January 17, 2016 Honestly, don't waste your money. Skin "firmness" is a factor of what is under the skin, not on top of it. collagen, elastin, hydration, genetics - all are internal, not external. The molecules of anything you put on top can only be absorbed into the surface, not by the layers underneath. Keeping skin hydrated and exfoliated makes the surface look better, but whether or not it sags is due to factors far beyond the influence of cosmetics. Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 17, 2016 I just use body oil when I get out of the shower. Palmer's Cocoa Oil or Neutrogena Sesame Oil are my favorites right now. I also have been using a locally-made goats milk belly balm on my tummy (mostly because it smells great and feels really good). Drink lots of Water, eat Protein, take your Vitamins, and stay moisturized. It just takes time for your skin to catch up as much as it can.
