Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie here. I started the process for surgery on 6/25/15, I had my initial consultation and nutritionist appt. It's been a looonnngg process, as many of you know. But I finally have heard back from my insurance and my surgery has been approved for Feb 9th!!!

I'm having my surgery at the University of Minnesota with Dr Leslie. I've been attending the support group they offer since June/15 to interact with other wls people.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I know this will be a big change and a tool I have to utilize to be successful! I'm excited to get to interact with all of you......my only fear is, what if I'm not successful? What if it doesn't work for me? I've been trying to lose weight for the past 9 months and have lost 60 lbs but my weight has not changed for the past two months. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried counting my calories and macros. I have even switched up my eating and exercise routine. If I can't lose weight now, what if I can't lose weight after having surgery?

Hi, don't stress your self. Take it 1 baby step at a time. Choose one thing to focus on per week and build it up adding one more each following week. You can do it.

It's GREAT that you've already lost 60 pounds! You're obviously committed to this and are going to do great!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
