Yup hand, feet, legs all of that gets super cold easily now. I went from not minding fall/winter to now totally hating these seasons when they come around. And I'm a February baby too. I know what has helped me with my overall body temp has been to wear layers of clothing. I'm almost always in my compression clothes (pants and at least two compression tops). The tightness of the compression clothing helps with keep my body temps up so I don't feel "as cold" as I do without them on. I guess this is become the compression gear helps with blood circulation in those areas. And it also helps from the whole chaffing from the loose wobbly skin in certain areas too. For the hands I would look into mittens and/or gloves for now. But I work in front of a computer all day so mittens are a no go for me. But sometimes I do put my hands on my very warm computer tower every now and then to get them heated up when they feel like ice bricks.

Yep, me too... A warm cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa usually helps, plus a space heater. I used to tell my wife I could never retire down South because of the heat and humidity. Now it's the opposite, and I guess I can't retire North!

I'm just the opposite. The surgeon took me off all hormones, and shortly after the surgery I started having hot flashes. I'm dreading this summer coming.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
