This alcohol threads always turn up. If you used search and looked at any of the past threads you should have known you were never going to get the kind of answers you wanted.

If what you are doing is working for you, then keep doing it.

Here's another, perhaps more useful, definition of "judgmental" as that word is used on Internet forums: doesn't agree with me about something I have a strong opinion about.

Happens to a lot of us. ;)

Always fascinates me the way some men behave when they believe they're in the presence of only women.

And even more fascinating their reaction to being challenged by women.

Just an observation.

Oh......OP is a a man ????

Never realized it.

Dude just needs to reach down and hitch his sack up and not have hissy fits.

Funny thread, truly.

I like @@Djmohr suggestion.......go have a drink of whatever you like and enjoy this glorious day. The Panthers are laying the smackdown on the Seahawks and I'm loving it.

That's great - I'm going to try to throw this sentence in a conversation later on today

Actually, about 1/3 of the responses are useful. A third are Church Ladies, and a third are trolls just happy to talk about something other than:

Stalls

Eating enough Protein

Telling people about your surgery

Drinking Water

Dress sizes

Loose Skin

Etc...

Oooooo let's talk about loose skin!!! Better than hard jiggly skin with fat pushing it out. Better than 2 or 3 chins wouldn't you say? Just trying to lighten the mood!

Judgemental is not about someone not agreeing with you...judgemental is being overly critical of someone for no reason. We're here to support each other. Sure, give someone feedback if they're making poor decisions. But there's a handful of people here who are downright condescending, and although they've reached goal and probably made some mistakes along the way, they choose to be mean and judgemental instead of being supportive and sharing what they may have learned from their own experiences/mistakes. I'm happy for @@Babbs accomplishments, I just wish she chose a better way of communicating when she wants to give someone feedback. Further, what is the purpose of being on a thread like this when the OP asked multiple times to share feedback only if this applies to you, this just leads me to believe that some folks get a sense of enjoyment from criticizing others. I bet many of you have a plethora of knowledge you can share but may be intimidated by some folks who demolish an opportunity for a healthy exchange of information.

Hey, most of us are incognito. If we can't scream about our journey to people we know, we may as well scream at strangers on Bariatric Pal!

I considered that except I always drink extra Water the day before and after. Also, the weight never comes back.

I think it's a way to get my body to release the weight it's been holding on to (as in BM)...

sorry nothing "releases weight. I do notice you seem to post a lot about alcohol. Can i ask why you drink so much?

All ill say is this.

When you post how you cheat and do stupid shit you arent supposed to, Good for you! because you are obviosly old hat at this stuff and have no problems with food and drink. You already know it all and have been nutritionists and surgeons your whole lives and were never FAT.

SO heres the bottom , line

When you fail, Its your fault. you obviously dont want to listen and thats your failure and you will live with it. So lash out at those who tell you not to do the stupid shit if you want. But we wil succeed and you will blame everyone else for your own failures. So enjoy it. when the honeymoon and the bullshit ends, You will have no one else to blame but yourself for not listening.

Drink up! Eat Up!, F*ck Up then Give up! have a great time doing it. After all rules are for other people.

I wont fail at this, and Im not going to give a shit that you wil. Im out. if anyone would like me for anything ill check back in a few weeks, there's too many seriously dumb new people here and I have had to question whether they are real or just trolls and that sad. Because i dont believe half of the people who post this carp are real. Not at all. No Pics, no proifle, no dates, unrealistic weights, no surgeons, no tickers , not nothing and no idea what this is about.

So like someone i respect suggested, its time to walk away for awhile. Peace, and have a great weekend.

Hey Steve The the Church Lady, Exactly how am I cheating?

BTW, I'm down 5 lbs since this exciting thread started a week ago. 7 lbs from my goal.

Time for a drink!

Wow these threads crack me up. I feel like I am back in high school reading stuff that people post. I havent even had surgery yet but joined this site to see how others adapt and succeed. Instead I see so much negativity and bullying. These are the same people I tell my 21 yr old daughter to avoid. But I think I am going to take a break and find a more positive site as well. I understand that these are people opinions and every one has one but we are also adults and should treat one another as such. I'm really hoping that these are trolls that I am referring to because if they aren't, then there are a lot of unhappy people on this site!

Hopefully, we can continue this discussion, stick to the subject, hear from people who had wls and drink alcohol responsibly - without any judgmental bullying.

I found this link on one of my other discussions that supports what I'm observing. Essentially, it says that MODERATE alcohol (1-2 low calorie drinks) actually speeds up our metabolism and contributes to weight loss.

I know it's in Wikipedia, but the references all look legit...

Here is a link to the major study:

"Among men, alcohol had only a slight effect on weight in either survey. However, among women, alcohol was associated with a substantial reduction in weight, which was as large as the effect of smoking. Compared with nondrinkers, women who consumed alcohol 7-13 times per week had the greatest reduction in weight: -3.6 kg (95% confidence limits [CL] = -5.6, -1.5 kg) in HANESII and -3.2 kg (95% CL = -4.9, -1.5 kg) in BRFS"

Interesting! Would be interesting to see if it holds true for bariatric patients because we metabolize things differently, but interesting. Did they control for calorie intake variables? (I.e.--were the calorie counts consistent between groups and did that total include the alcohol calories).

It's hard to read on my phone so maybe you know offhand. I will try and read on my real computer tomorrow.
